Kandy is the classic tea-growing district of central Sri Lanka. Kandy lies at 600 - 900 m (2,000 - 3,000 ft). Kandy teas a mid altitude tea, with a delicious smooth brew, a good deep brown colour and strength. Kandy teas are reliable teas, but have less finesse or interest than other Sri Lankan teas.
