Jalapeño Chilli

Jalapeño Chillis are medium heat Mexican chilli. Jalapeños are bright green with some darker patches, fat with a thick flesh. Jalapeño chillis are lightly flavoured and medium hot - 5/10 in heat or 5-10,000 Scoville heat units. When fully ripe, jalapeño chillis are less hot and have a sweeter, fruitier taste.

Fresh jalapeño chillis can be roasted to remove their thick flesh. Jalapeño chillis, also, available canned or bottled and sliced where they are a great table compliment, when they can be individually added to dishes such as pizzas to add heat by each person, individually.

Smoked jalapeños are chilpotles.
