Other than Darjeeling tea, several other areas in the Himalayas grow good teas, especially where there is good light soil and south facing valleys. Tough climates produce really good teas. Nepalese teas from Kanyam Tea Estate are good and close to Darjeeling teas, while Temi Estate in Sikkim has a honeyed nectar taste. However, the main issue with these regional teas is consistency, so it can be a bit hit or miss.
