Grits

Grits or Groats (UK, USA): coarsely ground dried corn made from hominy grits and eaten as a breakfast food in the USA; in England grits or groats are a coarse oatmeal or oat groats. Grits can come from other grains but would normally be qualified with the type of grain before the word grits, e.g. barley groats [1] [2]
