Gram Flour or Besan Flour

Gram Flour or Besan Flour is an Italian and Indian flour, made from chickpeas. Gram flour is high protein, has a fine texture and is yellow in colour.

Gram flour is often used in India to make batter for deep-frying in Indian dishes for snacks like pakoda, in curries like vegetable curry with crisp gram flour balls, or sweets such as bundias or laddus.

In Italy, chickpea flour is called Ceci Flour and used for socca or farinata, which are simple pancakes.
