Fold In

Fold In (UK): to combine two mixtures gently with a metal spoon to retain their lightness, by cutting down through and bringing up close to the bowl, then folding over before cutting down again. Done in a way that prevents loss of air and lightness developed beforehand through whisking [1] [2]
