Dimbula is a tea district that is 1,800 m (6,000 ft) above sea level and lies south east of Nuwara Eliya and produces large amounts of tea. Dimbula teas have elegant leaves and a flavour that is a clean and bright with a hint of woodiness, but without the bitterness of Uva. Dimbula teas have a coppery red colour, which takes milk well.
Good Dimbula tea estates include:
- Quantity: 1 teaspoon (2½ g) per cup or person
- Water: 95oC (200oF)
- Brew time: 4 - 5 minutes
