Dates are a sweet fruit, generally bought dried but can also be eaten fresh. The most popular types of date are Medjool and Deglet Noor, which are of Arabic origin. Dates are swereved often as a garnish on a fruit tray, stuffed with marzipan or cream cheese. Dates can also be used as a high fructose sweetner in smoothies and cakes.
