Corn, Maize or Indian Corn originates from Mexico and is one of the most important cereals, whether as a grain, meal or flour. The dried corn grains are used for popcorn and are ground to make cornmeal. Corn is naturally gluten free

Corn tastes sweet, light and tender. Normally, corn is the yellow colour of sweetcorn but it actually comes in a variety of colours from blue through to white.

Corn is used in traditional North American dishes, such as corn bread and hominy. Corn is an important source of starch, cooking oil and sugar - cornstarch, corn oil and corn syrup. bourbon whisky is made from fermented corn.
