Cod is one of the classic seawater fish, which can grow to 35 kg (80 lb) in weight.. The flesh of codlings (scrod) is firmer and sweeter than that of the large adults. Varieties of cod include: Greenland Cod, Pacific Cod and Polar Cod. Cod can be stuffed, baked, steamed and fried.

Cod has a low oil content, but is versatile fish.
