Bacon is a group of cured pork products that are brined, seasoned with spice, salt and perhaps sugar syrups, then either dried cured or smoked and dry cured. Streaky Bacon is cut from the belly, while Back Bacon is cut from the loin. Bacon can be purchased as a slab or more usually thinly sliced, for cooking either by frying or grilling. Bacon usually has preservatives added like sodium metabisulphate.
